Encouragement Continues
It is really interesting and so encouraging that many renowned people in ministry see the importance of the marketplace as a part of fulfilling God's purposes to evangelize the world.
It makes sense. It is logical. Where do most adults spend the majority of their awake hours?
Certainly for most the answer is work. Reaching people for Christ in the marketplaces of the world is a necessity.
“In today’s global community, the greatest channel of distribution for ‘salt and light’ is the business community…
the marketplace.”
– Bill Pollard, Chairman, ServiceMaster
“Someone recently said that the “First” Reformation took the Word of God to the common man and woman; the “Second” Reformation is taking the work of God to the common man and woman. That time is now. The greatest
potential ministry in the world today is the marketplace. Christ’s greatest labor force is those men and women already in that environment.”
– Tom Phillips, VP of Training , Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
“If Christ is not Lord of my work, He will never be Lord of my family.”
– Doug Sherman, author, Your Work Matters to God
Reaching around the world with BAM (Business as Mission) projects, then, is reaching out to people where they are, where we all spend so much of our time.
Blessings,
Larry
